Notcross Celebrates Fifth Anniversary of Coming Soon Sign

The City of Notcross joins the downtown business community in marking a notable anniversary this month. The "Coming Soon" banner installed in the front window of 114 Peachtree Alley has now been in place for five continuous years.

Installed following the announcement of a new tenant, the banner has weathered five summers, four repaintings of the adjacent facade, two changes in property ownership, and one comprehensive downtown branding refresh. It remains, by all accounts, in excellent condition.

"It is one of the most photographed spots downtown," the Economic Development Manager noted. "Visitors see it and they feel that sense of anticipation. That energy is exactly what we're trying to cultivate here."

The City's Storefront Activation Program offers matching grants to property owners seeking to improve the appearance of vacant ground-floor retail space. To date the program has funded eleven window treatments.

Anyone interested in the space at 114 Peachtree Alley is encouraged to contact the Economic Development office. Staff maintain an active list of interested parties, which currently includes nine businesses.
